A SILENT PROTEST
Has bold blood united us together in one bond?
A thousand enemies - one hatred, a thousand wounds in one wound.
I bleed in a thousand places, only felt in one great heart,
I cry in every land, only heaven appears dark.

Carry us safely through the storm as the will from the sea,
can we not see ourselves running from flame to flame,
I don’t understand, as we wander through nights of dark exile,
trapped in the desert of our tears and locked in the holy Torah.
When, then, will I find the place of peace from woe,
free myself from the dark, one by one and two by two.
