LIGHTS OUT

NIGHT HAS COME

The troop has marched a long way
To the desert.
Its road passed over a chasm
And led onward.
A road seemingly without an end
Until, from above the crags,
The bugles sounded.

Night has come
To the desert.
Smoke rises from bonfires
And the drum roll has died out.
The moon ignites over the steppes
And its face is blood-red.

A soldier sings his song in the wind
Facing the mountain.
The weary troop rests
In the desert.
He sings, and a drum echoes
Until, from above the crags,
The bugles sound.

Night has come…

Bring peace upon our encampment
In the desert. *
Our troop has passed safely
Across the chasm.
Its formation is unbreakable
Until, from above the crags,
The bugles sound.

Night has come…
