Va’ani yode’a –
Ve’ani meivin.

Within me, someone weeps,
Someone within me laughs;
Within me, someone walks –
Whither, they know not.

Someone is moaning,
Someone - rejoicing;
A person within me hollers –

A person within me celebrates.

Within me, someone is a child,
Within me, someone is a grandfather;
Someone, to the cerulean blue
Within me, lifts their eyes.

Within me, someone hums,
Softly, in anticipation;
I sense this, too,
And understand.
