IN THE BEGINNING

Here it comes, it's on its way...

In Palestine Land of Israel at the start of the century
a few tribes lived on the same piece of land
they differed one from another in religion, language
the relations between them weren't so great.

They blamed one another for all their ills,
distrusted each other, got caught up over borders.
They cried many tears over an ocean of victims,
and didn't learn a thing, nothing ever changed.

In Palestine Land of Israel at the start of the century
the rich search for a way to give another whack on the back of the poor who didn't understand that they were the majority
they thought it's natural to live all their lives in debt
for redemption is just around the corner
and the messiah's coming tomorrow to save the State.

At the start of the century,
at the start of the decade,
from dust you came,
unto dust you shall return.
At the start of the year,
at the start of the month,
another day of profanity in the holy land.
At the start of the week,
at the start of the day,
the cycle returns to the same place.
At the start of the hour,
at the start of the minute
No sign of quiet is left.
(x2)

In Palestine Land of Israel at the start of the century
it seemed that at each hour it was about to happen,
"here it comes, it's on the way!"
and it switched within a second.
The door is opened,
the amount of possibilities
is not limited
an atmosphere of hope, atmosphere of renewal
replaced the despair in a short time.

In Palestine Land of Israel at the start of the century
a man walked out from his house to his yard
sat under his vines and thought to himself
how much he loves his wife
how his first-born son reminds him of himself
how he's had enough of moaning all day,
and how much he wishes
that everything would just work out already.

At the start of the century...

In Palestine Land of Israel at the start of the century
I leave my home, think of my wife, my first-born son,
how much I've had enough of moaning all day long
And how much I just want everything to work out.

Another day in the holy land...
Here it comes, it's on its way...
