MY AMERICA
I travelled to America
to find opportunities
people told me that there
it's easier to live
I packed a suitcase
I hung hopes in it
I went up onto a plane
simply to try a bit.
I arrived in America
to find opportunities
there I went down to New York
a very big city
I walked getting lost
between many paths
I started to feel
that this isn't for me.
Land of Israel
is my America
the food,
the language
and all the friends
Land of Israel
is my America
women so beautiful
and many songs.
After two days or three
I wanted to return already
I thought of my land
that I left behind
I looked for hints
that will remind me of my home
how all that I found
simply broke me.
A week passed, not more
I asked until when,
I got up onto a plane
straight to the land of my forefathers
I breathed up there
the scent of the roses
I laughted and cried
I returned to my home.
