THANK YOU

THANKS

Chorus:
Thanks for all that You've created,
Thanks for what You've given me.

Verse 1
For our eyesight,
A friend or two,
For what I have in the world.
For the song which flows,
And a forgiving heart -
Because of all this - I exist.

Thanks for all that You've created,
Thanks for what You've given me.

Verse 2
For a child's laughter,
And the blue sky,
For the earth - and a warm home.
A corner to sit in,
A loving woman,
Because of all this - I exist.

Thanks for all that You've created,
Thanks for what You've given me.

Verse 3
For a day of happiness,
Innocence and honesty,
For the sad day - which passed and disappeared.
Two thousand cheers,
and hands clapping.
Because of all this - I exist.

Singable Italian    Spanish    Greek    From Greek
Portuguese    Nikud - Hebrew

Note:
As well as the Greek version, the Italian is a free translation from the Hebrew version. I found an impressive similarity between the Hebrew text of the first stanza and the "Cantico delle Creature" (Song of Creatures) by S. Francesco of Assisi, which is the first lyric song of Italian Literature. It's almost unbelievable, but also the metrics fit perfectly. So... please do consider S. Francesco a co-author of the Italian Version.

RINGRAZIO IL CREATORE

Laudato il Creatore,
laudato il Mio Signore,
per s?ra luna
e per le stelle
‘che l’Ha Create
clar?te et belle.
Per s?ra acqua,
per frate foco,
e per quel poco
che ancora ho.

Ringrazio per il Creato,
Ringrazio Chi m’ha Donato
due mura, un tetto,
due sedie un letto,
un angoletto
per star con lei,
con la mia fata,
la donna amata,
che per la vita
amer?.

Ringrazio il Creatore,
Ringrazio per tanto amore,
per una figlia,
una famiglia,
per tante miglia
da fare ancor.
Un emozione,
l’ispirazione,
questa canzone
che vien dal cuor.

GRACIAS

Estribillo:

like the Hebrew 'chet', but not as strong.

From Greek

All is well

All's well and all's fine.
Yesterday you were in the company of another.
And where is there an alley to sing?
Memories are not allowed.

Speak softly and don't shout.
I am simple-minded and you frighten me.
I don't want crowds and trouble.
Tomorrow I'll be unemployed.

I have a soul, I'm not a rock.
You've abandoned me again.
And a flag on a balcony
Changes colours and slays me.

Obrigado

Obrigado por tudo que criastes
Obrigado por tudo que me destes
Pela luz em meus olhos
Por um amigo ou dois
Pelo que eu tenho no mundo
Pela can??o que jorra
Pelo cora??o que perdoa
Por causa de tudo isto - Eu existo

Obrigado por tudo que criastes
Obrigado por tudo que me destes
Pelo riso de uma crian?a
E um c?u azul
Pela terra, e por um lar caloroso
Um canto para sentar
Uma mulher am?vel
Por causa de tudo isto - Eu existo

Obrigado por tudo que criastes
Obrigado por tudo que me destes
Por um dia de felicidade
Inoc?ncia e honestidade
Pelo dia de tristeza que desapareceu
Dois mil "vivas" e aplausos
Por causa de tudo isto - Eu existo
