SHIRU PURIM

Elbash tachposet baPurim,
Chultzah g’dolah mibad.
Kova shel leitzan achbosh,
Ve'chol haba le'yad.

Achaber li funfonim,
Vegam shtei k’tefiot,
Na'alayim, garbonim
Tzvu'im binekudot.
Az shiru: Purim, Purim,
Purim zeh chag nechmad,
Az shiru: Purim, Purim,
She'Purim kach yimashech la'ad!

Kova im emtza gadol,
O anivat parpar,
Et'chapes li leshoded,
Zameret o zamar.

Li adbik safam shachor,
Gabot, ulai zakan,
Et'chapes li lemachsheifah
Al matatei katan.
Az shiru Purim, Purim.....

SING PURIM

I’ll wear a costume on Purim,
A giant shirt made out of cloth,
A clown’s hat atop my crown,
And anything else around.

I’ll make myself some pom-poms,
And braces I will don,
Shoes and socks I’ll then put on,
All coloured with large spots.
So sing along: a Purim song,
Purim’s a fun holiday,
So sing along: a Purim song,
May Purim last for long!

A hat, maybe, that’s large and wide
Or a bowtie, slick and fine?
What if I dress up as a highwayman,
A singer or a songstress?

I’ll stick on a moustache black,
Bushy eyebrows, or a beard.
Or maybe a witch in fancy dress,
Complete with broomstick afear’d.
So sing along: a Purim song…
