LICHVOD PURIM

Hametzilah kvar metzaltelet,
Pitchu, pitchu na et hadelet.
Hinei holchot, hinei ba’ot
Hamassechot hanifla’ot.

Lichvod Purim, banim banot,
Lismo’ach hinei banu,
Hamassechot al hapanim -
Ish lo yakir otanu.

Berosh tzo’ed hara’ashan,
Bekol gadol tzore’ach:
“Oznei Haman, oznei Haman,
T’nu lechol ore’ach.”

IN HONOUR OF PURIM

Already rings the bell and knocks,
It’s the door – oh please, unlock.
Here they go - here they come,
The parade of fabulous costumes.

In honour of Purim, girls and boys,
We’ve come to celebrate in joy,
With masks on our faces -
No-one will recognize us.

The noisemaker marching in the lead,
At the top of voice proclaims his deed:
“Hamantaschen, hamantaschen,
Here, take, for one and all!”
