HAYOM PURIM

Habubot hayom s’meichot
Ve’aliz hadov.
Heim lavshu hamassechot
Veyatzu lar’chov.

Harechov malei g’dudim
Shel massechot viy’ladim
Vechulam sharim shirim
Ki hayom Purim.

Mi zeh lechatzer nichnas
Ufanav histir?
Zehu yeled mechupas -
Mi oto yakir?

Hechatzer kol kach s’meichah
Lechulam yesh massechah,
Vechulam sharim shirim
Ki hayom Purim!

TODAY IS PURIM

Happy are the dolls today
And bright-eyed teddy bear.
For they’ve all got masks to wear
And gone outside to play.

The streets are teeming with hordes
Of fancy dress and children,
And everyone is singing songs,
Because today is Purim.

Who just came into the garden
With countenance concealed?
It’s a child, he’s in disguise -
Does anyone recognize him?

It’s all so merry outside our house,
Everyone’s in fancy dress
And everyone is singing songs,
Because today is Purim!
